Havana, Cuba.-Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Luis Straker has arrived in Cuba to mark the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, Cuban Foreign Ministry informed today.

At a ceremony held last week at Havana’s diplomatic headquarters in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, the country’s foreign minister also noted the importance of Cuba’s collaboration in key areas of development in the country.

On this occasion, he also reminded the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, and the deceased Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez, who, he said, were initiators of important projects such as the Argyle International Airport, the largest infrastructure project in San Vincent and the Grenadines.

Cuba and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines established diplomatic relations on May 26, 1992, under the government of former Grenadian Prime Minister James Mitchell.
