BEIJING, China. – Cuban executives promote today in Beijing business opportunities in the mining sector, in order to attract the investment of Chinese entrepreneurship, optimize that industry and expand economic development.

The delegation of the Ministry of Energy and Mines held this Tuesday an exchange seminar at the Cuban embassy, to propose various projects to Chinese entrepreneurs and institutions.

Alexis Gongora, deputy director general of Mining, said the meeting´s purpose is to present the opportunities portfolio for foreign investment in the Cuban mining sector, linked to the activity of nickel and cobalt.

Gongora remarked the Chinese side’s interest for investing in the sector for years, and clarified that mining projects are closely linked to cost, and require a long term due to geological research and the search for technology.
