At the Havana Convention Center -the host of the event- Guilarte thanked the presence of more than 1,000 activists from Latin America, Europe, Africa , Asia and the USA, who violated the legislations of the US blockade to Cuba to be present in the Caribbean island.

At the Havana Convention Center Guilarte highlighted the interference actions by the US government and the recrudescing of the economic, commercial and financial blockade carried by the US against Cuba, with the restart Thursday of the 3rd Title of the Helms-Burton Law and pointed out that it is important to defend ‘our social projects and not bow down to the orders of the US empire ‘.

During the meeting, which this year is projected against the war and for world peace, the secretary general of the CTC also highlighted the unwavering solidarity with Venezuela, while demanding the freedom of former Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. For his part, the ambassador of Venezuela in Havana, Adán Chávez, said that despite the interventionist actions of the Government of Washington against the homeland of Bolívar, the Venezuelan people have resisted and will continue to resist.

The forum attendees are pronounced on various problems that live several of their nations, while thanking the solidarity of the Caribbean island with countries in the region and the world.

Most of the delegates to the meeting of a day -which is traditionally celebrated after the International Workers Day- participated the day before in the parade on May 1, which brought together almost one million people in the José Martí Revolution Square.
