Representatives of Cuba and the United States exchanged about trafficking in persons.

WASHINGTON, the United States of America. – Representatives of Cuba and the United States exchanged in Washington on human trafficking, at the fifth bilateral meeting on the subject, which weighed progress, experiences and discussed the challenges in prevention and confrontation with that crime.

The Cuban Chancellery emphasizes that at the meeting, held this Tuesday in the U.S. capital, both sides exchanged on how to protect victims of human trafficking.

Johana Tablada, Deputy Director General of the United States in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, presided over the Antillean delegation that was also integrated by officials of the Supreme People’s Court and the Attorney-General’s Office of the Republic.

Cuba shared new actions undertaken in the period 2016-2017, which contribute to further strengthening the State and society’s response to this scourge.
