JOHANNESBURG, South Africa.-The Communist Party of South Africa presented this Wednesday a special award for recognition to the International Brigades of Cuban Physicians for their practice of human solidarity in many parts of the world.

Blade Nzimande, secretary general of that political organization, gave the award to Jorge Cuevas, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, who attends as a guest at the 14th Congress of that entity, that began on Monday in Johannesburg and will end next Saturday.

On behalf of the Cuban people, Cuevas expressed gratitude for that special recognition to the physicians, particularly in the fight against Ebola in West Africa.

The member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba said this recognition belongs to the doctors, their families and all the Cuban people.
