cub-purHavana, Cuba.-Renowned Peruvian chef, Javier Ampuero, is giving here today the second of three demonstration workshops preparing dishes from the Andean nation, as part of the fourth South American country”s cultural week in the island.
Graduate from Le Cordon Bleu Peru culinary institute, Ampueros meetings are directed to colleagues from the major state and private restaurants of the city.

The Marinello Halls 1 and 2 at the Memories Miramar Hotel, west of Havana, is the venue of those workshops with the influx of a cuisine that is multiplied in restaurants in the major cities around the world.

Based on varieties of fruits, vegetables, grains and seafood, the Peruvian cuisine has been characterized by the fusion of pre-Inca, Inca, Spanish, African, Chinese, Japanese and Italian heritage.

A pictorial exhibition by artist, Borka Sattler, will be also opened today at the ALBA Culture Center in Havana.

Organizers of the event highlight today the exhibition of contemporary silverware objects from the “Patronato Plata del Peru” Collection.

This brings together 71 pieces, 41 are from Peruvian goldsmith winners in the national competition.

The fourth Peruvian Culture Week in Havana has been organized by the diplomatic mission of the South American country, in collaboration with the Cuban Ministry of Culture and other local institutions.
