Havana, Cuba.-Colombian President, Juan Manuel Santos, will meet today here with his Cuban peer, Raul Castro, at the Revolution Palace, in the context of his current official visit to the island.

Prior to the meeting, the president of that South American nation will pay tribute to National Hero, Jose Marti, and receive the official welcome.

Santos’ agenda includes the holding of a business forum to identify bilateral business opportunities.

The tribute to 1982 Nobel Prizewinner in Literature, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, is also part of the activities of the delegation of the South American country, the website of the Colombian Presidency posts.

Santos’ visit takes place when the relationships are in a moment of friendly exchange and mutual respect, according to Cuban official sources.

Cuba was the permanent headquarters and guarantor of the dialogue between representatives of the government of Santos and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia-People’s Army (FARC-EP).

After four years of talks, both sides signed an agreement to end the armed conflict, considered as an important step in the strengthening of Latin America and the Caribbean as a Peace Zone.

Upon his arrival in Cuba yesterday, Santos and his delegation were received by Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister, Rogelio Sierra, at the Jose Marti International Airport in this capital.
