Managua, Nicaragua.- The Association of Cubans Residing in Nicaragua (ACRN) supports the Yes vote in the referendum of the new Constitution of its country of origin, published today in its Facebook profile.

The Cuban constitutional referendum will be held on February 24, through which the people will ratify, at the polls, the continuity of the Revolution and the will to protect the social conquests of the island, expresses the note in its introduction.

It also states that the plebiscite act will be the best tribute to Jose Marti, Fidel Castro and the heroes of the homeland.

The text comments that the draft Constitution contains the legal bases for the development of the country and also the essence of the concept of Revolution, proclaimed by Fidel Castro on May 1, 2000, defender of solidarity, social justice, socialist values and independence.

The ratification of the new constitution is of great importance for the duties and rights that are endorsed and for the validation through this civic act of the anti-imperialist character of the Cuban socialist project, he argues.

The ACRN calls for the active participation of all Cubans in the referendum, a way of showing the world a true democratic, popular and revolutionary feast, the communiqué proclaims.

In its last paragraph, the document states: ‘We support the Yes vote, for the mobilization generated by the constitutional reform process and the integration of broad popular forces. The electoral event of next 24th will represent one more victory of the Cuban Revolution’.
