HAVANA, Cuba. – The training of human resources is essential to the progress of the current Cuban society, Elba Rosa Perez Montoya, said in the 2018 University Congress.

In her speech, the Minister of Science, Technology and Environment, added that the country performs a reorganization of the national science system and implements a State plan for confronting climate change, called Life Task, in which all bodies must make contribute.

The national President of the University Student Federation, Raul Alejandro Palmero Fernandez, said in the Youth and Student Forum that Cuban university students assumes responsibly today the economic and social missions demanded by the society.
In the Congress of Higher Education, Cuba signed collaboration agreements on university matters with Ecuador and Syria.

The Cordoba Reform in the Congress of Higher Education

The 2018 Regional Commission of Higher Education, on occasion of the centenary of the University Reform of Cordoba of 1918, will offer a lecture by Dr. Hugo Juri, rector of the National University of Cordoba, Argentina.

At the 2018 University Congress, it was held this Thursday will a panel titled International Collaboration for Research and Doctoral Training, coordinated by Dr. Maria Teresa Lozano, secretary general of the Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities.

During the forum, Maribel Ferrer Vicente, Vice- Rector of the University of Oriente, in Santiago de Cuba, reported that the National Accreditation Board gave the excellent status to the institution.

Ferrer Vicente said this award is a greater commitment to the training of future professionals.
