HAVANA, Cuba.- The President of the National Assembly of People’s Power, Esteban Lazo Hernandez, received Maya Fernandez Allende, head of the Chamber of Deputies of Chile, who pays an official visit to Cuba.

During a meeting at the headquarters of the National Assembly, attended by members of the delegation led by Fernandez Allende, Lazo highlighted the strengthening of inter-parliamentary linkages, which translates into the signing of some agreements since 2015.

The President of the Cuban Parliament also remarked the role of legislators in achieving greater cooperation between the Governments of both countries, as it is interesting to continue the exchange to improve access to medical and biotechnology products.

Lazo noted the importance of foreign investment for the economic development of Cuba, and advocated for a broad presence of Chilean companies in the Mariel Special Zone of Development.
