People of Santiago de Cuba pays homage to Fidel.

SANTIAGO DE CUBA, Cuba.- A massive pilgrimage of the people of Santiago de Cuba to Santa Iphigenia Cemetery in homage to historical leader Fidel Castro Ruz, took place this December 4 on the second anniversary of his burial.

Thousands of students, workers, soldiers, women and people concentrated in the Antonio Maceo Revolution Square to pay tribute of remembrance to the head of the Cuban Revolution.

The march headed by leaders of Santiago de Cuba and flags of Cuba and the 26th of July Movement, traveled Patria Avenue to the monolith keeping the ashes of the historical leader.

Prior to the pilgrimage, a solemn ceremony was held where the highest authorities of the Party and Government in Santiago de Cuba placed a floral offering to Fidel on behalf of the people of Cuba.
