HAVANA, Cuba. – Army General Raul Castro Ruz, president of the Councils of State and Ministers of Cuba, sent this Monday a congratulatory message to his Venezuelan counterpart, Nicolas Maduro, after the victory in the elections this Sunday.

I congratulate you on the results of the state elections, Venezuela has given another great lesson in peace, democratic vocation, courage and dignity, the text reads.

The Cuban President also highlighted in his message to Maduro that Chavez’s legacy is alive. He and Fidel would be very proud of this victory, always count on the support and solidarity of Cuba, concludes the dedication.

This Sunday regional elections took place in Venezuela, where Chavismo won despite the economic, political, media and cultural war the right impels to try to sink the Bolivarian Revolution.
