Cuba: Nine doctors per one thousand inhabitants

HAVANA, Cuba.- Cuba has more than 100,000 active doctors, reaching the highest figure in history and an indicator among the first in the world, with the proportion of nine doctors per one thousand inhabitants.

Jose Angel Portal Miranda, Minister of Public Health, emphasized that at the triumph of the Revolution, about 3,000 doctors remained to face the health problems of the population.

With the recent graduation of the University of Medical Sciences of Havana, more than 300 thousand professionals are trained in the careers of Medicine, Stomatology, Bachelor of Nursing, Health Technologies and others.

Portal Miranda pointed out that graduates are carriers of high scientific and technical training, and a humanistic formation that makes them qualitatively better, as guarantors of the health of the Cuban population and other parts of the world.
