HAVANA, Cuba. – Esteban Lazo, President of the National Assembly of Popular Power, referred on Monday to Cuba´s interest for strengthening ties with the Republic of Malta.
Upon receiving Angelo Farrugia, head of Parliament of that European country, in the National Capitol, Lazo expressed the intention that both parties establish periodic exchanges to know each other, and thus consolidate the bilateral ties.
The President of the Cuban National Assembly explained that in the current legislature, this is the first visit of a high-level parliamentary delegation from Malta, which will promote those shared objectives.
Lazo highlighted the favorable scenario opened by the agreement of political dialogue and cooperation between the European Union and Cuba, and added he it hopes Malta can be part of these beneficial ties.
