Presidents Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin.

Trump and Putin will met in Hamburg next Jukly.

Sergei Lavrov, Russia’s minister of Foreign Affairs, said today that his country and the United States must work to fulfill their international obligations, according to UN resolutions, to resolve the existing conflict in Syria.

After holding some meetings in Washington, the diplomat stressed that Russia is poised to collaborate and discuss concrete cooperation mechanisms on Syria, while announcing that Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump will meet in Hamburg next July.

Lavrov recalled the experiences of the past, as in Iraq and Libya, in which the international community was obsessed with the idea of overthrowing a person, which generated serious situations in those countries.

The Russian chancellor pointed out that in the case of Syria, there is no exit strategy for the leader of the Arab country, and he reiterated the parties should fulfil their international obligations to solve that conflict.
