MANAGUA, Nicaragua. – The Sao Paulo Forum announced this Tuesday Havana as its next headquarters in 2018, a designation acclaimed with a closed ovation and cries of Cuba Yes, Yankees No!

The news was announced during the closing of the twenty-third meeting of the inclusive mechanism of the Latin American left held in Nicaragua, where more than 300 delegates from more than 22 countries participated.

Jose Ramon Balaguer, head of the Cuban delegation to Managua, said that welcoming the prestigious meeting is an honor and a responsibility for Cuba in the times running for the leftist parties.

Havana will receive the working groups of the Sao Paulo Forum for the third time, as it also welcomed the political grouping in 1993 and 2001.
