Infomed, Cuban Health network.

Geneva, Switzerland.- Infomed Cuban network won today the prize of the 2017 World Summit on the Information Society. It is a project recognized as a milestone in the computerization of society in Cuba.

Houlin Zhao, Secretary General of the International Telecommunication Union announced the news, as part of the meetings of the meeting that began yesterday in Geneva.

The award of the 2017 World Summit on the Information Society recognizes the successes achieved by the States in the implementation of the commitments made at the United Nations summit, held in two phases in 2003 and 2005.

Initiatives and programs are rewarded to improve global connectivity, taking into account that information and telecommunications technologies are essential to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.
