Cuba and the European Union discussed unilateral coercive measures.

BRUSSELS, Belgium. – After entering into force the bilateral cooperation and political dialogue agreement two years ago, Cuba and the European Union held talks last Monday in Brussels on unilateral coercive measures.

A diplomatic note points out that the exchange took place in a respectful and constructive environment, focused on the use of unilateral coercive measures, which were contrary to the law and the rules of international trade.

The dialogue was guided by the common interest of knowing the damage caused by the American blockade to Cuba and to the economic and commercial interests of the European bloc, and the will to address the issue on the basis of mutual respect was ratified.

The delegations were headed by Rodolfo Reyes, Director General of Multilateral Affairs of the Cuban Chancellery, and Hugo Sobral, Assistant Director General for the Americas of the European External Action Service.
