BRUSSELS, Belgium. – The High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini, confirmed the entry into force this Wednesday of the cooperation agreement recently signed between the community bloc and Cuba.

According to statements by the head of European diplomacy, the Union and the Cuban nation are turning page, for the beginning of a new chapter in the relations with the provisional application of that treaty, beginning on November 1st.

Mogherini asserted that with the implementation of the Agreement on Political Dialogue and Cooperation, the region is approaching Cuban citizens in a moment of economic, political and social modernization on the island.

The convention consists of three main chapters aimed at promoting bilateral trade, political dialogue and economic cooperation between the European Community and Cuba.
