Havana, Cuba.- The Expocuba fairground is now a symbol of the economic development of this country, especially through the fairs that take place in its spaces.

That is the case of the 37th International Fair of Havana (Fihav 2019) considered not only the main commercial exchange of the island, but of the Caribbean and a good part of Latin America. This exhibition hall is located on the outskirts of the capital, near the well-known Lenin Park.

That’s why Fihav participants are looking for details about this space that is already traditional for this and other economic and business meetings.

Expocuba is the biggest fairground of Cuba with a total extension of 60 hectares, of which 47 are used in 25 pavilions; the total area of exhibition includes 53 hectares, of them 20 outdoors and 25 pavilions.

From December to August in its 25 pavilions, the Permanent Exhibition of the achievements of the Republic of Cuba by organisms and branches of the economy is shown.

And in particular, in November of each year it is the headquarters of the International Fair of Havana Fihav, the biggest commercial meeting that takes place in the country. The center has experience in fairs, exhibitions and commercial, professional and social events.

This stage is complemented by an extensive gastronomic network of six restaurants, three cafeterias, four bars, two ice cream parlors and two specialized food processing centers, among other services such as theatres, various lounges and communication centers.

Nearly 15 million people have already visited the Permanent Exhibition of Cuba’s Economic and Social Results, inaugurated by the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, on January 4, 1989.

Such an enclosure was designed and built with a very novel system of knots and bars (stereocellia) in 22 months, a result that caused not a few astonishments for its speed, versatility, transparency, rationality and architectural expression.

From 1994 onwards, the exhibitions of the provinces and some invited municipalities were integrated into the initial exhibition concept, and more recently, the Expoventa of the Labiofam Business Group.

In 2013, with the collaboration of China, a photovoltaic park was built in one of its areas, using solar energy, which occupies two hectares and generates part of the electricity consumed by the center.
