Havana, Cuba.- Users of the Mariel Special Development Zone (ZEDM) support recovery works in the Havana municipalities battered by a powerful tornado on January 27 evening.

Some of the companies operating in the Zone have provided their contribution to the recovery of the affected areas, ZEDM, an important economic enclave located west of Havana, posted on social media on Thursday.

Womy Equipment Rental, b.v. company offered some of its cranes to collect debris and trees in areas of difficult access in 10 de Octubre municipality.

Devox Caribe, S.A. company donated 130 1,000-liter plastic tanks and plastic blankets for the affected people, in addition to paint for the Hijas de Galicia Mother-Child Hospital, the note stated .

BDC Log S.A. company guaranteed the transportation of this cargo.

ZEDM users highlighted their appreciation and respect for the Cuban people and showed their willingness to continue helping the recovery of the affected municipalities, the note concluded.

President Miguel Diaz-Canel acknowledged on Wednesday all people who participated in the recovery in Havana after the passage of the tornado.
