Havana, Cuba.- Cuban workers on Wednesday took to the squares to demonstrate that US threats do not intimidate them and to express their friendship with Venezuela, which has been the target of excessive US hostility.

Amid a dangerous rhetoric that threatens the stability of the region, which was proclaimed a peace zone, Cuban students and workers expressed their willingness to continue the construction of a prosperous and sustainable socialism.

Carrying Venezuelan flags, participants in the parades showed that friendship with Venezuela is unbreakable and will not be negotiated, because Cuba does not abandon its friends.

During the speech on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution, on January 1, the first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba(PCC), Raul Castro, reaffirmed that no threats will stop us from giving solidarity to Venezuela.

Raul Castro warned that the repeated statement that Venezuela is a threat to US national security, the calls for a military coup against its government and the military exercises near its borders can only lead to serious instability and unpredictable consequences.

Venezuela was the first country visited by Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel after he took office as the head of State and Government, and President Maduro was the first statesman who traveled to Cuba after April 19, when the Cuban president assumed such a responsibility.
