CARACAS, Venezuela.- The President of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, recalled the Admirable Campaign starring Simon Bolívar, as one of the greatest military actions in the history of that country.

Through his account in Twitter, the Venezuelan President highlighted the feat by a small army under the orders of El Libertador in the conquest of independence from the Spanish power, after the loss of the First Republic.

The military action began in San Jose de Cucuta on May 14, 1813 and in its ranks were other important Venezuelan military leaders, such as Jose Felix Ribas.

In August of that year, the small army commanded by the then Brigadier Bolivar entered into Caracas triumphantly after successfully completing the Admirable Campaign.
