BERKELEY, United States of America. – Under the auspices of the International Committee on Peace, Justice and Dignity to the People, the city of Berkeley, in the state of California, hosted an activity to raise funds for the recovery of the damage caused by Hurricane Irma in Cuba.

Alicia Jrapko, coordinator of this solidarity movement, communicated to Radio Reloj that the Cuban Mezcla group and Dry Skin, a local group composed of Cuban musicians performed at the event.

The meeting in Berkeley, California, was held to raise funds to alleviate the damage caused in Cuba by Hurricane Irma and was attended by renowned Cuban poet Nancy Morejon and two American graduates of the Latin American School of Medicine (ELAM), Dr. Lucia Agudelo and Dr. Abraham Vela.

The event sponsored by the International Committee on Peace, Justice and Dignity to the People and with the support of other organizations, also commemorated the 50th anniversary of the physical departure of Commander Ernesto Che Guevara.
