Egyptian press highlights Cuba’s position in the face of blockade.

CAIRO, Egypt.- The Pyramids Egyptian newspaper highlighted Cuba’s stance in its fight against the U.S. economic and financial blockade on the island.

The article by journalist Kamal Gaballa highlights the historical links between the island and Egypt, as well as Havana’s position in favor of Arab causes in international forums.

Cuba has defended the cause of Palestine, in addition to hosting students from that country in its universities; it has also spoken out against the annexation of Syrian Golan Heights to Israel, the article points out.

Egyptian journalist Al Ahram details the main damage the U.S. blockade has caused to Cuba, and explains that Mike Pompeo, Secretary of State, warned to lift all restrictions caused by the implementation of Title III of the Helms-Burton Act.
