LUANDA, Angola. – President Joao Lourenço received on Tuesday afternoon in Luanda Cuban first Vice-President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, who head the Cuban delegation to the inauguration of the new Angolan President.

During the meeting, both parties recognized the historical ties of friendship between both peoples and Governments, and ratified the will to broaden their political, economic, and cooperation ties.

The Cuban first Vice-President conveyed a congratulatory message and greeting from Army General Raul Castro Ruz and thanked Angola´s position in favor of lifting the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba.

The Angolan President appreciated the presence of the Cuban delegation and sent a salute to the Cuban President.
