BEIJING, China.- Cuba and China gave a new impetus to their legal relations, with the signing of a memorandum of understanding that will allow the expansion of cooperation through research projects and exchange of experiences.

The document was signed by Jose Alexis Ginarte, president of the National Union of Jurists of Cuba, and Zhang Mingqi, Vice-President of the Chinese Society of Law, at the headquarters of the latter organization.

Ginarte said the agreement seeks to consolidate links with exchanges on certain matters of law, where the Cuban side has certain advances but still lacks information and legal practices that have progressed much more.

China, he said, is a benchmark for example in international trade, in the positive steps that society achieves in many branches of economy, and it is important to take those experiences, evaluate them and determine which are more viable for Cuba.
