Havana, Cuba.- Patients from some Dominican cities are already among those assisted, as part of Petrocaribe”s cooperation agreements, local media reported Monday.

‘The pre-operative days of Operation Miracle in Dominica ended successfully, and 195 patients were evaluated in Roseau, Portsmouth, Grand Bay and Marigot, with assistance from the PDV Caribe staff, as part of the Petrocaribe cooperation agreement’, Petrocaribe posted in Twitter.

Patients’ evaluations began on Wednesday, December 12, in the Commonwealth of Dominica, where cases of cataracts and pterygium are the most prominent.

Operation Miracle is a humanitarian project initiated on July 8, 2004, by Cuba and Venezuela with the goal of treating and operating on low-income patients suffering from eye ailments.
