SANTIAGO DE CUBA, Cuba. – In Santa Iphigenia Cemetery of Santiago de Cuba, specialists on physical medicine and rehabilitation paid homage this Tuesday to Fidel Castro Ruz, top promoter of extending that medical specialty to the most intricate and difficult to access places of the island.

Sadia Aliaga Ramirez, head of Camilo Torres Rehabilitation Room, said she was present to honor the Commander-in-Chief, show her pride of being from Santiago and living in that city.

This Tuesday morning, the first homage of these specialists on physical medicine and rehabilitation was for Fidel, on the morning of this Tuesday, because he created this program fifteen years ago.

The physical rehabilitation comprehensive program has today thirty two rooms, nine hospitals providing services, three nursing homes, a psycho-pedagogical center and almost three hundred mountain TV rooms, including the most intricate areas of the Turquino Plan.
