Santiago de Cuba, Cuba.- President Miguel Diaz-Canel today began a government visit to the eastern province of Santiago de Cuba by the company Laguna Blanca, producer of food, fruits, corn and coffee.

There, the President and Ministers and accompanying authorities received an explanation of the technologies used to increase productivity, including irrigation.

Food priority for the people was one of the issues addressed in the entity.

Ines Maria Chapman, Vice President of the Councils of State and Ministers, as part of the government visit to Santiago de Cuba, visited the water supply company La Maya.

According to the Presidency of the Republic, the goal of the Diaz-Canel and national officials stay in the eastern province is to assess compliance with the indications of the previous visit, made in June 2018, such as food production, housing construction and computerization of society.

The Head of State began Thursday the second cycle of government visits through the country, the first completed a month ago, a working method he adopted since coming to office in April 2018.
