HAVANA, Cuba.-The First Trade Convention constituted a space for debate and exchange of knowledge and experiences, which should be reversed in order to offer better service and protection to consumers, Mary Blanca Ortega, Cuban minister of the sector, said in Havana.

Talking to the press after the closure of the Convention, Ortega pointed out it constitutes a priority of this body to prepare cadres, managers and workers, in order to respond to the challenges of trade today in the updating of the Cuban economic model.

During the First Trade Convention, it was held the Cosmetology Symposium, where they discussed on common points in different areas of foreign trade.

He added the Convention made it possible to work on the submission of proposals responding to the sector´s activities, taking into account the application of science, computerization and communication.

On the last day of the meeting, the members of the Scientific Committee and the best stands of the exhibition fair were recognized.

Common Points in Foreign Trade

In the Cosmetology Symposium held during the First Trade Convention, the participants discussed on common points in the different areas of foreign trade.

In the lecture titled Transdisciplinarity of Cosmetology, Dr. Irela Pérez, from the Institute of Pharmacy and Food of the University of Havana, said cosmetology depends on the good functioning of other lines.

Dr. Perez referred to the importance of feeding for skin and hair care. Tell me what you eat and I will tell you how you look, the doctor said. That is why she emphasized the role of gastronomy and culinary art.

Everything is related, because in order to have a good final product there must be coherence between the quality of the service and the products, the interaction with the environment and the innocuousness of the treatment, the lecturer assured.
