HAVANA, Cuba. – The National Electoral Commission of Cuba continues improving the details in the face of the general elections planned for next March 11, the vice president of the entity, Tomas Amaran, said.

During a contact with journalists, the official commented that at the moment the number of electoral colleges is almost defined, which add up to 24 471.

This time it is a different election to that when delegates were elected to the municipal assemblies of People’s Power, special electoral colleges will be allowed to allow voting to those who, for different reasons, cannot do so in the constituency where they reside.

Amaran added that 92 electoral districts were also created in those municipalities whose population exceeds 100,000 inhabitants.

Intensive Training to Ensure Results

More than 188 thousand electoral authorities in the structures at all levels have participated in an extensive training process.

Today the updating of the voter lists concluded, an information that will be processed to deliver the definitive ones to the municipal electoral commissions, no after March 5.

Tomas Amaran, vice-president of the National Electoral Commission, recalled that, as there are two votings, on March 11 there will be two kinds of ballots, one green for the case of deputies to the National Assembly of People´s Power, and another white for the delegates to the provincial assemblies.

Amaran also mentioned another difference with the vote for delegates of each municipality held in November: on this occasion voters may vote for one, several or all the candidates.
