Neighborhood Award of CDR to National Folklore Ensemble

HAVANA, Cuba.- For their perseverance, tenacity and consecration, which demonstrate the indestructible unity of the Cuban people, the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR), gave this Thursday the Neighborhood Award to the National Folklore Ensemble of Cuba.

At the headquarters of the emblematic dance group, the national coordinator of the largest organization of masses in the island, Carlos Rafael Miranda, put the recognition in the hands of its director general, Manolo Micler, who valued it as a high honor.

Micler pointed out that it constitutes a motive to continue advancing in the art of a company that reflects the most genuine of Cuban folklore, and also expresses the contemporaneousness of popular creations like Son, Mambo, Danzon and Rumba.

Betty Oria, member of the National Secretariat of the CDR, remarked the outstanding trajectory of the National Folkloric Ensemble, founded 56 years ago.
