HAVANA, Cuba.-The head of the European diplomacy, Federica Mogherini, expressed this Wednesday in Havana the interest to increase economic operations and open new sectors of cooperation of the bloc with Cuba.

Mogherini met with the Cuban Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment Minister Rodrigo Malmierca, who after welcoming him said that three visits in three years are a sign of the interest of developing relations between both sides.

The High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission (EC), began with this interview her work agenda in a two-day visit to Cuba.

The parties argue that the links between Cuba and the EU are in good shape and develop positively, characterized by a favorable exchange and political dialogue.

The blockade is not the solution and we have told our partners in the United States repeatedly in the United Nations, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security policy, Federica Mogherini, said today.

The Vice-President of the European Commission also offered a lecture on the relations between the community bloc and Latin America, in which she referred to the damage caused to Cuba by Washington´s.

In front of those building walls and closing doors, we the Europeans want to build bridges, the Chancellor of the European Union highlighted during her two-day visit to Cuba.

Federica Mogherini will also meet this Thursday with Cuban Chancellor Bruno Rodriguez with whom she will address several issues on the collaboration between Havana and Brussels
