Havana, Cuba.- On the occasion of World Food Day, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez described access to food as a human right for all people
In a post on the social media platform X, the Foreign Minister further stated that the tightening of the blockade—including the energy embargo and secondary sanctions imposed by the United States government—is negatively impacting agri-food production in Cuba.
“Between March 1, 2025, and February 28, 2026, alone, damages to this sector in our country were reported at 848,088,919 USD,” Rodriguez added.
He also asserted that causing food shortages is part of this criminal policy, which is intended to force a change of government.
“Cuba is not a threat; the blockade is the threat, he concluded.
