Havana, Cuba.- Roberto Morales, Organization Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), commemorated the 65th anniversary of *Palante* magazine.
In a post on the social network X, he congratulated the team behind the publication, which entertains, instills values, and reaffirms Cuban identity.
“A warm embrace to everyone, and a grateful remembrance of those who are no longer with us but left an indelible mark,” he added.
*Palante* was founded on October 16, 1961, as a print magazine featuring general humor, depictions of local customs, and political satire.
Its distinctive name originated from a slogan widely used at the time—amidst acute international tensions: “We are socialists—onward and forward!”
The magazine’s various formats and media have served as a primary record of the changing and complex circumstances experienced by the Cuban Revolution.
This portrayal is vividly reflected in the publication’s editorial and graphic content; its pages have featured some of the country’s leading humorists, and it has harnessed its creative arsenal to support the very serious struggle for survival of a nation determined to remain independent.
