CAMAGUEY, Cuba. – At the close of the first semester, the Bank of Credit and Commerce approved in this province 3115 credits, since the entry into force of the Decree-Law on these grants to natural persons and other banking services, more than five years ago.

The head of Personal Banking in Camagüey, Maria Josefa Zuazuaga, said that only in the current year 288 credits have been granted for the purchase of construction materials and the payment of labor service, with the purpose of promoting the repair and rehabilitation of homes by own effort.

In the case of applications to finance the purchase of cooking equipment, Zuazuaga explained that the sum amounts to 784,000 pesos at the end of last June.

Regarding non-state workers, the new banking policy has allowed the gradual increase in this modality.
