CARACAS, Venezuela. – President Nicolas Maduro thanked the demonstrations of solidarity expressed by people and Governments of the world in favor of the revolutionary cause in Venezuela, in the face of imperial aggressions perpetrated by the United States.

At the closing ceremony of the World Meeting for Afro-descendant Peoples´ Rights, Maduro urged the international community to increase the support for his nation before the assaults orchestrated by Washington, which intensified since Donald Trump´s arrival to the presidency.

We are a noble people who want to live in peace and we have been defeating manipulation for two decades, the Venezuelan President said.

Maduro recalled the attacks backed by the George Bush Administration, who planned a coup d’état in 2002 against President Hugo Chavez Frias.
