More than 80000 children would now be displaced.
The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) regretted this Thursday that at least half a million children need humanitarian aid in Libya, based on the impact of the internal conflict on their development.
The specialized agency pointed out the violence prevailing in various parts of the North African oil country causes the forcible displacement of many families.
According to UNICEF, more than 80 thousand children would now be displaced, a very sensitive situation for their health and well-being; Libya gets through a complex conflict, which includes sectarian fights for power.
UNICEF said it has increased its presence in the field, with the aim of supporting children. Following a recent visit to the African nation, the Fund’s regional director, Geert Cappelaere, highlighted the actions of massive vaccination against polio.
