Cuban doctors and nurses in Guatemala.

GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala.- Staff of the Cuban Medical Brigade in Guatemala remains at the disposal of the health authorities of the Department of Escuintla, one of the three most hit by the eruption of Volcano of Fire.

Yuri Batista, head of the brigade, said that four doctors and the same number of nurses supported the work of attention to the victims until last Sunday midnight.

This Monday, the twenty seven Cuban collaborators working in the area remain providing health coverage, but they are ready to assume any assistance requested by the Guatemalan Ministry of Health.

The Cuban Embassy in that nation reiterated its heartfelt condolences to the people, Government and relatives of the victims and ratified their physicians´ commitment to stay with the neediest, as they demonstrated over 20 years of uninterrupted presence in that Central American country.
