Cuban Diplomats Affected Because of Blockade

TOKYO, Japan.- Japanese media reported the refusal of a Hilton Hotel to house Cuban diplomats under the pretext of being official representatives of a nation subject to American sanctions.

The Cuban diplomatic headquarters in Tokyo highlighted the fact as one more evidence that the United States´ hostility against Cuba does not respect borders and offends the sovereignty of other countries.

Cuban Ambassador Carlos Miguel Pereira denounced to the Japanese media the decision of the Hilton’s management to apply extraterritorially the blockade regulations, in violation of Japanese sovereignty and laws.

The main Japanese press reported almost simultaneously the incident happened last October, among them Asahi Shimbun newspaper and 24 Hours News newscast.
