Pyongyang, North Corea.- A new activity in solidarity with Cuba took place in the Chollima cultural center in Pyongyang, hosted by the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations Abroad, local media reported Thursday.

A Cuban film was screened, and recieved extensive applause from workers and student representatives, according to the Korean Central News Agency(ACNC).

The event was held as part of a day of solidarity with Cuba that takes place in the context of August 13, the 93rd anniversary of the birth of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro.

The screening was also attended by the Vice President of the Korean Foreign Cultural Relations Committee and the Korean Committee of Solidarity with Cuba, So Ho Won; and staff of the Cuban embassy in this country.

Recently, the Korean Committee of Solidarity with Cuba, together with Cubans and Pyongyans, recalled the 66th anniversary of July 26, the Day of National Rebellion in Cuba.

The Cuban celebrations in Pyongyang began on the first day of this year, when the Chairman of the State Committee of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), Kim Jong Un, sent a large basket of flowers – Kimilsungia, Kimjongilia and magnolias (national flower) – to the Cuban embassy in honor of the 60th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution, commemorated on January 1.

The activities were led by the Vice Chairman of the Korean Foreign Cultural Relations Committee and the Korean Committee for Solidarity with Cuba, So Ho Won, the source stated.
