Havana, Cuba.- The Qatari embassy in Cuba and representatives of the Caribbean island government celebrate the 139th anniversary of the founding of the current State of Qatar.

According to officials of the Arab diplomatic mission, the celebration in Havana of the National Day of Qatar is also an opportunity to strengthen relations and represent in the largest of the Antilles part of their own traditions.

According to the Qatari ambassador in Cuba, Rashid Mairza Al-Mulla, in the emirate this date ‘is a real party, the whole country is decorated, the people go out into the streets and people celebrate the most important and relevant activity for the nation ‘

According to the diplomat, it is a fusion of popular happiness, heroism and support for the Qatari leadership to commemorate the day when Jassim bin Mohammed Al-Thani founded the current state, in 1878.

In Cuba, as in previous years, to the formal celebration organized by the embassy are invited members of the Government, other diplomatic missions members accredited in Havana and personalities from various spheres of society on the island.

Regarding the relations between Qatar and Cuba, Al-Mulla commented that the good state of them is reflected in the implementation of common initiatives and in the study of new ones.
