Cuban farners work for the benefit of communities.

HAVANA, Cuba.- In addition to growing in production lines, the Cuban farmers salute the 56th anniversary of the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP) with a greater projection towards the communities´ benefit.

Joel Palmero Meneses, from the National Bureau of ANAP, said the more than 370 thousand associates to the organization contribute to the change of image of centers and institutions located in rural environments.

Palmero added that since the call to celebrate another year of ANAP, more than 1500 medical clinics were repaired, as well as almost 200 schools and more than a hundred grocery stores.

The official explained that statistics reflect that farmers produce more than 90 percent of the meat pork consumed in Cuba, as well as beans.
