HAVANA, Cuba.-The President of the Cuban Parliament, Esteban Lazo Hernandez, reiterated to Nguyen Phu Trong, Secretary General of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the desire of the Caribbean country to strengthen relations.

According to the President of the National Assembly of People´s Power, the brotherhood between the two nations was continually strengthened after the triumph of the Cuban Revolution, and it was precisely the leader of this process, Fidel Castro Ruz, one of the main drivers of these ties.

Lazo also said that “we are joined by strong friendship and cooperation in various areas, and diplomatic relations are at the highest level.”

He added that the visit of the Vietnamese delegation was at a time of particular importance to Cuba, as the island lived a moment of generational change in the direction of the State.
