HAVANA, Cuba.- With the presence of Vice-President Mercedes Lopez Acea, First Secretary of the Party in Havana, took place the event for the anniversary 57 of the proclamation of the Socialist Character of the Revolution, a fact that marked the way forward in the construction of a social process based on humanism and fairness.

On April 16, 1961 Fidel spoke to the people gathered on the central corner of 23 and 12 Streets, in tribute to the victims of the bombings against the air bases of Ciudad Libertad, San Antonio de los Banos and Santiago de Cuba.

“For this revolution of the humble, by the humble and for the humble, we are ready to give life,” the Commander-in-Chief sentenced.

Fifty seven years after that event, Cubans maintain their commitment to the construction of a prosperous and sustainable Socialism.
