Emigrants in the Mediterranean.

Chris Catrambone, representative of the non-governmental organization MOAS, reported that at least thirty-one people died when a ship with hundreds of Libyan emigrants shipwrecked in the Mediterranean Sea.

The ship Phoenix of that NGO participates in the rescue alongside the Fiorillo, from the Italian Coast Guard, and a tugboat. They expect to find new victims, what will increase the number of deceased.

The spokesman of the International Organization of Migrations, Flavio Di Giacomo, reported the number of Libyan emigrants who died in the Mediterranean, increased to about one thousand four hundred up to date, on the route from Lybia to Italy.

The official pointed out that at this time of the year; the migratory flow through the Mediterranean increases, because weather conditions improve, which apparently happens these days.
