The Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, updated the one hundred and three Member States on his efforts to reform the organization, according to his spokesman Stephane Dujarric.

Dujarric pointed out that Guterres informed the Governments in writing about the process, aimed at adapting the United Nations to the new global setting, after more than seven decades of its foundation.

Gender equity, development system, architecture of peace, fight against terrorism and sexual abuse, the protection of those who denounce irregularities, and management of the UN, stand out among the priorities of the ongoing reform.

The spokesman insisted that it is about achieving a more united organization in its thinking and action, placing people at the center of its work, for which they have been established some mechanisms to modernize it.
