Diaz-Canel arrives in Azerbaijan

BAKU, Arzerbaiyan. – The Cuban President, Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, arrived today in Baku, capital of Azerbaijan, venue of the 18th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Non-Aligned Movement since tomorrow.

Diaz-Canel arrived in the city of Baku from Minsk, capital of Belarus, where paid an official visit, which was the second stop of a tour that began in Ireland and will conclude in Russia.

Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez was greeted at Heydar Aliyev International Airport by Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Ali Ahmadov and also by Cuban Chancellor Bruno Rodriguez and Cuban Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Alfredo Fidel Nieves.

It is the first time a President of Cuba has visited that Euro-Asian nation, with nearly 10 million inhabitants, a millennial history and valuable oil resources.
