Havana, Cuba.- Promoting permanent and sustainable industrial development will focus the first edition of the Investment Forum to be held within the framework of Cuba Industry- 2018, from June 18 to 22, organizers of the event informed today.

According to the call, the Forum aims at facilitating the reconciliation of projects and ideas of development with the purpose of bolstering collaborative and integration alliances; a scenario of exchanges between national and foreign investors; investment funds and risk capital; science entities and other institutions.

Organized into five working groups – industrial iron-steel, chemical, light, electronic-automatic’s and Mariel Special Development Zone’s activities -, it aims at exploring projects presented by the Ministry of Industries (Mindus) and its business groups to potential international investors.

The Convention and International Exhibition of Cuban Industry (Cuba Industry 2018), will be held in two spaces, the Havana Convention Center and the Pabexpo fairgrounds. In this edition, 11 associated congresses, round tables and exchange panels will be developed, as well as, in parallel, an exhibition.

Meanwhile, the Investment Forum will take place in Pabexpo on June 19.

On this occasion, the priorities of Cuba Industry will be the promotion of productive linkage, the use of innovative materials from renewable sources of energy, the substitution of exports and the promotion of links with universities.

It is estimated that some 1,600 national speakers and 400 foreigners from over 25 countries participate, including Russia, China, Spain, Italy, Argentina and Brazil.

The Congresses associated to the event are: 3rd of Industrial Maintenance, 15th International of Recycling, 3rd of Containers and Packaging, the 18th Metallurgical, 3rd of Metalworking, 3rd of Management of Quality and Environmental Protection and 3rd of the Chemical Industry.

Joined to them will be the 3rd Congress of Electronics and Automation; the 3rd of the Fashion, Furniture, Environments and Styles Industry; the 3rd of Technological Management and Organizational Innovation; the 11th International Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Renewable Energy; and the 2nd Design Forum.

Meanwhile, the exhibition will have representations on recycling, containers and packaging, metallurgy, metalworking, electronics and automation; as well as renewable sources of energy, medical equipment, chemistry, light industry and professional services.

Cuba Industry will meet under the slogan ‘In the path of permanent and sustainable industrial development,’ a favorable environment for technical scientific exchange, the strengthening of technological associations between national and foreign industries, the promotion of exportable lines and the consolidation of national productions.
